Summary:
Provides leadership and technical guidance to the Production Engineering Department activities in order to achieve and maintain Departmental and Corporate goals and objectives, while emphasizing product improvement, quality, safety, and cost savings achievement.
Essential Functions:
1. Directs, reviews, and approves Production Engineering staff work assignments. May perform daily assessments of the work area to help ensure safety, quality, etc. and follow-up on any issues which may arise from daily activities, such as safety concerns, quality issues, associate issues, etc. and develops appropriate countermeasures.
2. Designs, develops, and implements kaizen ideas to improve productivity, quality, and profitability. This may include developing process designs and leading projects through to installation.
3. Investigates and troubleshoots problems related to quality, productivity, safety, etc. and designs, develops, and implements appropriate countermeasures.
4. May introduce new products and design changes from the planning stages through process design and installation or machine modification.
5. May perform special project work, including coordinating the project, designing and developing ideas, addressing problems and concerns, and overseeing other aspects related to the project, such as budget, scheduling, etc.
6. Trains and mentors other associates on Company policies and procedures and necessary Production Engineering skills.
7. Coordinates and participates in annual and on-going projects.
8. Evaluates team members' work performance and assists in upgrading their development and talent.
9. Plans and improves Department policies and procedures.
10. Performs Human Resource activities including tracking time and attendance, counseling, scheduling, etc.
11. Maintains an appropriate level of conventionality and conformance in regard to the corporate culture as expressed in the Associate Handbook. Relates well with others, including as appropriate, peers, supervisor, subordinates, customers and suppliers. Maintains good attendance and assumes appropriate role(s) when working in a team environment. Responds appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations which develop in the work environment.
## Qualifications
4 year engineering degree
8 years Mfg experience
4 years leadership and project management experience
